Wearing FFP2 masks has recently become mandatory in numerous locations. The reason for this is that this particular mask is able to protect wearers themselves, unlike all other models. Yet how do you recognise an FFP2 mask? Indications that it is indeed an FFP2 mask can be found in the data printed on the mask itself. The “FFP2” label alone is not sufficient. In addition to the four-digit CE mark, the manufacturer’s address and all the contents required by the EN 149 standard must likewise be listed.
Importers of FFP2 masks must ensure that there is adequate documentation for masks and that additional information is provided in the instructions for use and on the packaging.
