Amendments to the harmonised standards for toys

On 15 May 2022, 4 harmonised toy standards from the EN 71 series will be superseded by more current editions. Manufacturers, importers and fulfilment service providers should ensure that their documentation is always in conformity with current standards.

On 15 May 2022, 4 harmonised toy standards from the EN 71 series will be superseded by more current editions. Sections 2 (Flammability) and 3 (Migration of pollutants) are particularly affected. These are generally applied to toys in order to ensure the implementation of legal product requirements. Test certificates based on older standard editions lose the presumption of conformity. This means that it must then be proved that such older standard editions still implement the legal requirements according to state-of-the-art technology.

Manufacturers, importers and fulfilment service providers should ensure that their documentation is always in conformity with current standards.

trade-e-bility supports you to always be up-to-date or to give recommendations for action where test certificates are outdated.
