At the beginning of this year, the EU Commission launched a new initiative for improving and simplifying the assessment of pollutants. In particular, the existing resources are to be used more efficiently. Provisions governing pollutants exist in the EU, e.g. in the form of REACh Regulation (EC) 1907/2006.
Should the Commission succeed in streamlining the evaluation process for new substances, decisions on the inclusion of these substances in the list of substances of very high concern (SVHCs) as well as in Annexes XIV and XVII are expected to be accelerated. A rapidly increasing number of substances to be governed by this Regulation can be expected.
Nearly all economic operators responsible for the product are to be affected.
Until 12 April 2022 of this year, the EU Commission will accept feedback here. All that is necessary in this regard is registration.
