PPWR Online Training: EU Packaging Regulation
Ready for the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40
From 12 August 2026, the new Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), also known as (EU) 2025/40), applies. It sets numerous requirements for producers, manufacturers, importers and sellers who place packaging or packaged products on the market in the EU. The PPWR introduces requirements for the entire life cycle of packaging in regard to its environmental sustainability and labelling.
The PPWR officially came into force on 11 February 2025 and, after a transition period, will replace the previous Packaging Directive 94/62/EC from 12 August 2026. However, some obligations and requirements are already binding, so early preparation is crucial.
