As announced by the British Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy on 24 August 2021, the validity of the CE mark as a mark of conformity in the context of marketing products in England, Scotland and Wales will be extended by one year, namely until 31 December 2022.
The coronavirus pandemic is cited as one of the reasons for this. EU exporters now have an extra year to meet the UKCA mark requirements. However, this also means that on 1 January 2023 the leap from CE to UKCA will be greater because the legislative processes of the EU and the UK will continue to undergo further divergence.
trade-e-bility will keep you informed of changes to UKCA requirements and give advice on the relevance of these changes to you.
