Sales bans for producers of inverters

For example, Europe-wide distribution bans and fines of up to 100,000 euros can be imposed on producers. Importers and sellers who fail to comply with their obligations can be fined up to 10,000 euros.

The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has tested various inverters and found numerous defects. Accordingly, the Federal Network Agency warns of possible dangers with unauthorised inverters for photovoltaic systems in stationary and online trade.

Last year, the Federal Network Agency already noticed solar inverters without a CE mark, German operating instructions or German dealer address. In addition to the formal requirements, technical requirements also need to be met. For this reason, the Federal Network Agency also conducts metrological investigations. At present, the Federal Network Agency is engaged in litigation against manufacturers of solar inverters that meet the formal requirements but show deficiencies in the metrological testing in the laboratory. For instance, some products exceed legal limits for electromagnetic compatibility during operation. Europe-wide distribution bans and fines of up to 100,000 euros can be imposed on manufacturers, for example. Importers and traders who fail to comply with their obligations can be fined up to 10,000 euros.

If you are affected by inspections by the Federal Network Agency or need support in the area of CE or electromagnetic compatibility, We will be pleased to assist you. Please call +49/40/75068730-0 or send an e-mail to beratung@trade-e-bility.de.
