What happens if I don't register with EPREL?
- Market and sales ban: Products subject to labelling requirements must not be sold in the EU without EPREL registration. Since October 2024, digital supplier identity verification has also been mandatory – without verification, a product is automatically considered non-compliant.
- Fines: Depending on the EU country, failure to register with EPREL can result in severe fines.
- Reputational damage: Incomplete or missing product data damages credibility with customers, trading partners and authorities.
- Trade issues: Many online marketplaces and retailers only accept EPREL-registered products – this could result in listing refusals or exclusions.
- Recalls: Market surveillance authorities can remove unregistered or incorrectly registered products from the market, recall them or confiscate them.
