Compliance support for new players on the protective clothing market

For new players in the protective clothing market, but also for those who plan to market new products, professional preparation to meet the legal requirements in force is important. Trade-e-bility GmbH supports you with research on the legal requirements as well as with the normative implementation.

What do knee pads, helmets, gloves and smocks have in common? They are supposed to protect people. However, the legal protection requirements behind such items frequently are not so clear and unambiguous. For instance, winter gloves are covered by the Product Safety Act, while oven gloves are considered to be personal protective equipment. Smocks may also fall under both requirement categories and even those for medical products. It is important, therefore, to be aware of the protective aim of the clothing article in question and to base the documentation for fulfilment on that aim. Misguided strategies can turn out to be extremely expensive and protracted in this regard.

This applies to manufacturers, importers and distributors of protective clothing.

Requirements: Protective clothing may be subject to the Product Safety Directive, the Medical Device Directive or the Personal Protective Equipment Directive, amongst others.

Recommendation: For new players in the protective clothing market, but also for those who plan to market new products, professional preparation to meet the legal requirements in force from time to time is important.

Trade-e-bility GmbH supports you with research on the legal requirements as well as with the normative implementation.
